2012 InKAS Korean Language Scholarships for Winter Semester

This is a great opportunity to learn Korean language at a prestigious university in South Korea. InKAS provides Korean language scholarships to overseas Korean adoptees. In association with a grant from the Ministry for Health, Welfare and Family Affairs, scholarship grantees can study at any of these language Institutes: Ewha Womans, Korea, Kyunghee, Seoul National, Sogang, Sookmyung women’s and Yonsei University.

1. Required Documents and Terms

A. Documents

- One on-line Application form

- One photocopy of adoption document with your Korean name

- One photocopy of your passport with valid passport number

- One photocopy of your high school diploma or higher

- One photo (3x4cm)

B. Terms

 - For students applying for a second semester, only an application form needs to be resubmitted, but some documents might be requested by InKAS or the university.

 - If you have any problems or issues from previous semesters in Korean language school, your application can be rejected or your acceptance can be cancelled by personal notification.

 - An applicant must be over 18 years old

 - Only fully-completed applications along with all the required documents will be accepted.

 - Selections will be made entirely on a first-come first-served basis. 

2. Application Deadline

 - For Seoul National University/ Sogang University : Noon, September 14th (Korean time)

 - For all other universities: Noon, October 12th(Korean time)

5.   Fee

- InKAS Application fee: 82,000KW(77.00 USD) : It's not refundable. Don't pay it before receiving announcement e-mail

- University registration fee: Different terms can be applied for each university.

- Tuition fee: 50% covered for 6 of the universities.

                    Only 30% covered for Yonsei University

** If you are a recipient of a scholarship for the 2012 winter semester, you will receive payment instructions and more information about this course by email.

2012 FALL TESOL Orientation

All Korean Adoptees currently living in Korea are invited to attend our InKAS TESOL orientation. 

The TESOL course is offered through the University of California Riverside program for a 120 hours Certificate. 

the class location will be between Gangnam station Exit 10. Class days and hours are to be determined at the orientation according to attendees' schedules. Costs will also be discussed, but the course will be heavily discounte through InKAS.

"2012 InKAS Korean Language Scholarships for Fall Semester"

Please notice that application for Seoul National University and Sogang University will be closed on June 26th and for the other schools you can apply by July 10th.

*This semester, full scholarships are provided by InKAS, except Yonsei University (only 80% covered).

* In case this is your second term, you could submit only the application and all other documents are not necessary, but sometimes needs to be sent by InKAS’s request.

* If you submit documents that are not qualified, the scholarship will be deprived at anytime.

Starting from June 6th, first-come, first-served basis

*Only fully-completed applications along with all the required documents after June 6th in Korean time will be accepted. Selections will be made entirely on a first-come, first-served basis.

Basically all classes at the universities run from 9a.m. to 1p.m. from Monday through Friday. *Unlike last semester, unfortunately, we can’t afford to grant scholarship for any evening classes due to reduced fund. However, even though you have to cover the whole tuition on your own, if you still want to attend an evening class, you yourself can apply for it directly at the school that you want to attend.

5.   Fee

1) Application fee to InKAS : $77 US dollar or 82,000won (You can make the payment through Paypal on the website or directly at the office)

** Do not pay your registration fee till you are sure of being recipient of this semester scholarship. Because It’s not refundable.

2)  Tuition fee is 100 % covered by InKAS Korean Language Scholarship. (excluding the  registration fee to a school)  In case this is your second term on the same university, you don’t need to pay the registration fee. 

* Yonsei University students need to pay 20% of the tuition fee (only 80% of tuition fee covered for Yonsei)

All notices related to any fees will be given individually after your being acceptance as a scholarship beneficiary. And you will get the results after the application period has ended by email.

2012 GK Summer Camp

2012 GK SUMMER CAMP    

for Korean Overseas Adoptees                      

Thank you for considering the InKAS’ Summer Camp.

Every summer InKAS invites 40 Korean overseas adoptees to the motherland for an experience of learning and embracing the culture and heritage, which was perhaps left behind. This will be a time of fostering a strong sense of pride in the Korean heritage and friendship building between native Koreans and adoptees

May 25th – June 3rd, 2012

Qualifications: Must be a Korean Overseas Adoptee over 18 years old.

Fees:

* Airfare will be covered by Korean Air! 

* InKAS will cover all lodging, transportation, tours, and meal expenses.         

* A nonrefundable registration fee of 100 euro (or 150 USD), as well as airlines taxes/fees must be covered by participant.

No adoption agency including InKAS is no longer an submission organization for applying NIIED(GKS) scholarship .
